Rotary District 6860 Awards Program 2011 - 2012
PRESIDENTIAL CITATION -The 2011-12 Presidential Citation will recognize achievements related to membership development and contributing to The Rotary Foundation. Each qualifying club will receive an award certificate. Additionally, the top 15 districts and 15 clubs certified by governors and validated by RI will be recognized onstage at the 2012 RI Convention in Bangkok, Thailand.Clubs qualifying will submit their application to the District Governor by April 6, 2012 For both Presidential Citation and Changemaker Award click HERE. CHANGEMAKER AWARD- The Changemaker Award will recognize Rotary clubs that make an extraordinary impact during 2011-12 through their work in the Avenues of Service. Clubs are invited to undertake a challenging array of activities in each avenue, with the goal of making positive and significant change in their communities and in the world. Clubs qualifying will submit their application to the District Governor by March 8, 2012
4 WAY TEST AWARD - Awarded to the clubs that model the 4 Way Test by in addition to reciting the 4 Way Test, having a member share during the club meeting, at least monthly, a brief testimony of how he personally recently applied the 4 Way Test. TOM MILFORD SERVICE ABOVE SELF AWARD -Awarded to the District 6860 Rotarian that best exemplifies Service Above Self during the current Rotary year. (This is an award that clubs may want to propose their "Rotarian of the Year” for.) Clubs must apply online by March 31, 2012 at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LS2PXJL
GREATEST TOTAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION – This award is given to the club that gives the most money to the Rotary Foundation during the period from July 1 to March 31, 2012.No application is needed for this award. No action required by Clubs
SMALL CLUB MEMBERSHIP GROWTH - Three categories that meet membership goals during July 1, 2011 - May 15, 2012 time frame:

The district governor submits the names of all qualifying clubs to RI between 16 May and 30 June. Each recognized club will receive a certificate signed by the RI president. No action required by Clubs
VOCATIONAL SERVICE AWARDS - Purpose of Award: To recognize, each Rotary year, one non-Rotarian person in District 6860 and one Rotarian in District 6860, both for Vocational Service based on a District, State, Region, National, or World basis (i.e. vocational service recognized significantly beyond the territory of a club). The Annual Award is based on recognition as excellence in representing and performing in a vocation with recognition of achievement significantly beyond one club's territory. To make application for this award you may download the application forms from the district web site. SMALL CLUBS (50 Members or fewer) and LARGE CLUBS (51 Members or more). One club in each of the club size classifications will be recognized for each of the following awards. Honorable Mentions may additionally be given.
MEMBERSHIP GROWTH - Awarded to the club with the highest net percentage growth in membership for the period July 1, 2011 - March 31, 2012. Each club's starting membership figure will be its June 30, 2011 membership as reported on the semi-annual report. The District Secretary and the Awards Committee will calculate the growth. No application is required. No action required by Clubs
AVERAGE ATTENDANCE - Awarded to the club with the highest average percent attendance for the period July I, 2011 March 31, 2012. The winner will be calculated by totaling the percent attendance reported each month and dividing the sum by nine. The District Secretary and the Awards Committee will calculate the attendance averages. No application is required. No action required by Clubs
FOUNDATION GIVING - Awarded to the club with the highest average per member contribution to the Annual Program Fund of the Rotary Foundation. The winner will be calculated by dividing the Club's total unrestricted giving to the Annual Program Fund as reported by the Rotary Foundation for the period July 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012 by the Club's membership of June 30, 2011 as reported on the July semi-annual report. First, second, and third places will be given for both small(<50) and large clubs for this award. No application is required. No action required by Clubs.
EREY AWARD- Awarded to the club with the greatest percentage of club members individually contributing to the Annual Program Fund with at least $100/member average for the club. The July semiannual report will be used for the total membership. No action is required by Clubs
STAR CLUB - Awarded to each club achieving or exceeding $100 per capita contribution to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund during the current Rotary year. Clubs achieving this level of contributions by March 31, 2012 will be recognized at the District Conference. No action is required by Clubs
COMMUNITY or VOCATIONAL SERVICE AWARD - Awarded to the club with the most significant community or vocational service project. Extra weighting will be given for projects that are recent in nature, those that involve a large number of the club membership, and those that have a wide community impact and projects that include partners to help achieve the desired objective. Projects involving literacy will receive extra credit. Projects that would be considered vocational are included in this award. This application must be completed by March 31st 2012. INTERNATIONAL SERVICE AWARD- Awarded to the club with the most significant international service project. Projects should be recent and results should be highlighted. Applications must be completed by March 31st 2012. As with the Community or Vocational Service Awards, clubs are to fill out the Online Awards Application at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TVJRMBT
CLUB PUBLISHED BULLETIN - Awarded to the club with the best bulletin as determined by the District Communications Officer and the Awards Committee using criteria suggested in the Club Committee Manual. Competing Clubs must provide by March 31st 2012 to the District Governor copies of a minimum of nine Bulletins - to include at least one per quarter for the period July 1, 2011 - March 31, 2012. Clubs that notify and provide copies of every published bulletin to the District Governor from the beginning of the year will be automatically considered in the competition.
CLUB Electronic BULLETIN - Awarded to the club with the best electronic bulletin as determined by the District Governor. A minimum of nine e-bulletins should be emailed - to include at least one per quarter for the period July 1, 2011 - March 31, 2012. The competing clubs E-Bulletin should be posted in the club bulletin file located in section 2 of My Club in DaCdb by March 31st2011.
CLUB WEB SITE AWARD - Awarded to the club with the best web site that provides information external to the club and internal to the members.Consideration will be given for providing access to DaCdb, projects, events and recognition of club accomplishments. A link to the clubs website should be posted in section 1 of My Club in DaCdb by March 31st 2012.
