Educational Programs of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International

Welcome to the Educational Programs of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. The Foundation offers a variety of programs to scholars to study abroad for up to two years. The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis each year, although some scholarships are not offered every year by our district.

Today, Ambassadorial Scholarships are one of the world's largest privately funded international scholarship programs. In 2005-06, 731 scholars from 59 countries studied in 60 countries with program awards totaling $14.8 million.

The Rotary Foundation sponsors the Rotary World Peace Fellowships program. Each year, up to 60 scholars are sponsored to study at one of six Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution for a master's-level degree.

In 2006, the Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies program was added as a short-term certificate course designed for professionals in mid to upper-level positions so they are better equipped to prevent and resolve conflicts of varying degrees and types. This program is offered at ChulalongkornUniversity in Bangkok, Thailand as a part of its ongoing effort to continue promoting world understanding and peace.

Rotary Grants for University Teachers are awarded to higher education faculty members to teach at universities or colleges of their choice in developing nation for 3 to 10 months. This program builds understanding while strengthening higher education in low income countries and promotes the exchange of teaching methods and ideas between teachers at the grant recipients' home and host institutions.
