Gov. Anton's Bio
Although he was born in New York City in 1941, Anton spent most of his seventy-one years being educated and growing up in Alabama, Tennessee, New Hampshire, Ohio and for the past thirty-one years in Georgia.

Known around the world since the mid-seventies as an “Edutainer” and the “Mentalist with a Message”, Anton enjoyed a career as a public speaker and performer that began at the early age of fourteen (1955-59) when he was first introduced to “Show Business” as the Master of Ceremonies of Teen Time on the stage of the Tennessee Theatre and at sixteen he became the Manager of the Bijou Theatre also in Knoxville.

In 1967 Anton joined the sales force of the Bulova Watch Company, which he left after ten years to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a professional Magician. In 2005 Anton authored his book, I Read Minds–And So Do You, in which readers can choose to learn to communicate with self and others with clarity and to subsequently read the most important mind of all, their own!

Anton and his wife Lois were married and moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1982. Ten years later he was invited to become a member of the Rotary Club of Canton where he has served in a variety of leadership roles for the past twenty-one years with twenty-one years perfect attendance.

Anton has served his home club, the Rotary Club of Canton as Secretary, Treasurer and Fundraising chair. He also served as Club Service Chair, Polio+ and C.A.R.T. Chair, Co-Chaired New Member Orientation for over a decade and Chaired the Rotary Club of Canton’s Charitable fund. He led his club as President in 1997-1998 during which time he and his fellow club members’ collective efforts were rewarded by a great sense of accomplishment and by receiving the intermediate sized Rotary Club of the year award.

In 1998 The Rotary Club of Canton honored Anton by selecting him as Rotarian of the Year, as the recipient of the Lamar Haley Community Service Award in 2003 and Avenues of Service Award in 2011. On two occasions the Georgia House of Representatives recognized Anton for his service to Rotary and his community.

He has also served Rotary District 6910 as District Conference Sergeant-at-Arms, District Photographer, District Web Master and Club Web Site Trainer. He is a graduate of and a Discussion Leader for Rotary Leadership Institute.

In the years 2007-2010 he served as an Assistant District Governor and was Chairman of a “Celebration of Service” for the 2009- 2010 District Conference. He supports The Rotary Foundation with Designations of: Multiple Paul Harris Fellow (8), Paul Harris Society, Bequest Society, Benefactor and PHF Sustaining Member. Anton is also a Sustaining GRSP Hugh Thomas Fellow.

For the past 24 years Anton has actively participated in his community of Canton GA as a volunteer at a variety of community events including speaking at elementary and middle schools, performing and acting as Master of Ceremonies at numerous charitable events. He is a graduate of Cherokee Leadership and is a Past President and a board member of the Malon D. Mimms Boys and Girls Club of Cherokee County where he also mentors youths to participate in oratorical competitions. Anton and his wife Lois celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this year, have two daughters, four grandchildren. All living in Ohio.
