|The Paragould Rotary Club would like to honor Star Student, Allison Hampton, from the Marmaduke School District. Allison is the daughter of Rodney and Myra Hampton and is a Senior at MHS with a GP of 4.18 and President of the Senior Class. She is also a graduate of Paragould Leadership Class 8, and is on the Lady Greyhound basketball team. Allison is also on the track team, is a member of Student Council, Hounds Against Drugs, Art Club, FBLA, FCCLA, Beta Club, and is in the Gifted and Talented Program. Alison’s community service projects have included: working with the make a wish foundation, collecting soda cans for the Ronald McDonald House in Memphis, helping with the backpack for kids program, Interact Rotary Trash pick-up days, and helping with youth basketball programs. Math teacher, Cara Herren, stated, Allison has always been a great friend to her peers and a strong leader in her class. She is proud to be a Marmaduke Greyhound and represents her school and community very well”. Allison’s future plans include attending Arkansas State University where she plans to obtain a Master’s degree in Business Administration and would like to work in the area of Healthcare Administration. In the words, of an unknown author, “To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don’t worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest!” Allison shines bright as a Star Student, and on behalf of the Paragould Rotary Club, congratulations on being selected for the September 2014 honor.
